Analysis of Soil and Crop Parameters for the Development of Power Tiller-Operated Groundnut Digger

Groundnut (Arachis hypogea L.) is a major oilseed crop and holds an important place in the Indian agricultural economy. Odisha occupies 6th groundnut-producing states of country with total production 0.388 MT grown both Kharif Rabi seasons. Harvesting one unit operations groundnut cultivation mechanically harvested by tractor-operated diggers but their use limited because small land holdings high capital costs not economical for marginal farmers state. However, to match power tillers are commercially available, therefore, efforts were made develop single-row digger operated tiller. The study was conducted relate soil parameters design, which influences harvesting groundnut. design tiller-operated harvest single row requires data (soil type, bulk density, cone index moisture content) (plant population, plant height, pod zone, spreading radius, taproot length, diameter, pod-vine ratio), suitable different varieties. It found that majority varieties sandy soils at 12-15 % more yield minimum requirement. observed all types zone depth, diameter number pods per varies from 24-29/m2, 31-49.18 cm, 5.79-6.86 5.87-9.15 11.70-13.78 4.64-5.84 cm 11-27/plant, respectively.
